Dressing Downton - The Paine Art Center, Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Dressing Downton, Changing Fashion for Changing Times is on display at the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh, WI.  My sister Lynn, Justine, Anna, Magally and I, so enjoyed this exhibit yesterday.  We also had tickets for the high tea time party.  The exhibit featured 36 period costumes that were actually worn by the actors/actresses in the filming of Downton Abby.

First, this estate is absolutely gorgeous - the perfect venue for this exhibit.  We were not allowed to take any pictures of the exhibit, but it was so cool to see the most memorable outfits from the series.  Violet's lavender dress - the very one in the picture behind us.  Mary's red dress - the one she wore the night her "friend" had a heart attack in her bed.  Cora's beautiful silver beaded dress she wore for Rose's debutante ball.  Sybil's maternity dress, Edith's country pant suit she wore while driving the tractor on the farm.  Matthew's WWI uniform, Robert's formal uniform, Tom's chaufer, driver's suit.  Anna's lady's maid and Ms. Hughes's uniform.  They staged the costumes all throughout the home using the period antiques that are a part of the center.  I really enjoyed it.

After the exhibit, we wandered the beautiful gardens and grounds and walked down to the carriage house.  The high tea was set for all of us Downton fans to enjoy.  So good!

This room was full at tea time....

Some pictures of the estate and grounds.

The above is the carriage house where the tea was held.

We had such a lovely time - tea, talk and Downton!

Blessing from Ringle, Wisconsin.
