Good Bye 2014

What a year!  2014's top 10 for me:

1.  Justine's wedding - January 1, 2014

2.  Anna's wedding - August 22, 2014

3.  Starting up another "business"  - "It's All A Rave - Vintage Pop Up Sales"

4.  Taking on additional selling spaces - Jackie's Antique Mall on Brown and Water Street Vintage (2 new ones) along with Once & Again - 3 booths!

5.  Drum Roll.....cleaning out, having a huge "pole building" sale - a much needed purge of my overstock inventory.

(before)

(after)

6.  My first contractual auction - shared with Lange Auction.

7.  Meeting the members of Skillet - Christian rock band at the Wisconsin Valley Fair:

8.  I bought a new van - this week - (2015 Dodge)

9.  "Helping Hands" ministry - my Sunday School youth

(since this photo, we have an additional 2 regular youth and 6 or so occasional youth in our group)

10.  Empty Nest phase of our life.  Al and I have been enjoying time together, we don't feel sad about our empty nest, rather a huge feeling of success - we are proud of our daughter's and the choices the have made!

I have had a year of growth and change.  I only see 2015 as another opportunity to continue in this direction.  Thanks for sharing in my year by following and reading my blog.

Thank You Felicia

My blogger friend, Felicia from http://simplypractical.blogspot.com/
sent me a Christmas gift.  I love it.  She even sent my daughter's each one of her cute handmade ornaments.  Merry Christmas.

I love that she used an old typewriter to make this tag.  I might have to dig one of those up and "copy" this neat idea...

I love homemade items - my tree is full of them.  Thanks Felicia!

Vintage Christmas Decor

As an antique dealer, many people say to me..."well, you must have the best..._(fill in the blank)_...  No, that isn't true.  We sell the "best" and keep the "rest."  Here is a little tour of the trees I put up this year.

I love this barn one.

The candy cane was made by my friend's grandma in 1975 or 1976 - Grandma Klein - I think of her each year when I put it on my tree.

This little sanda mouse was one of my childhood ornaments - it wouldn't be a tree without it.

My mom would always tie an ornament to one of my gifts.  This one is even in her handwriting - I treasure them!

Vintage & Handmade Christmas Pop Up at the Farm

It was so much fun!  I really enjoyed setting up and hosting this event.  It was the last pop up sale of 2014.  At the beginning of the year, I had no idea how the pop ups would go - I can say - they have been successful!  Here's to many more in 2015.

As I was putting out the sign at the end of my driveway, I heard this "whop, whop," flapping wing sound.  I turned around and these 2 muscovy ducks were in my yard.  I don't know who they belong to - however, they must have heard about the sale....the black and white one, welcomed the customers and spent the night in my chicken coop.  The next morning when I opened the door, he flew away.  I hope he meets up with the white one.

This is my shop/studio building.  Al stick built this for me in 2002.  I plan to host some craft days in here, now that it is cleaned out.  Almost everything outside was for sale.

Those wisemen were left over from the pole building pop up.

Each of my friends (vendors) had a table.

The vendors were:

Janna and Dawn:

Jan:

Karen:

Kathleen:

Joi:

Sue:

I made those ice rings and put candles in them outside - I love the way they looked.

Organic advertising works!

Merry Christmas and thank you to all who supported my business this past year.
