Barn Cats Keeping Warm

These 2 are sisters, believe it or not, born in 1999.  They are 15 years old.  Now, that's old for any cat, but these are barn cats.   Every morning when I go out to do chores, it is always in the back of my mind...are they all still alive.  I know I shouldn't, but realistically, they are old.  I have so enjoyed them and their personalities.  They will always hold a special place in my heart.  I'm thankful to them for all the memories they gave our daughters too.

On days like today, it is below zero, but sunny.  I can always find them sunning themselves.

I absolutely love this one of Midnight!  She found some piece of junk under the lean on the side of the polebuilding to protect herself from wind and still sleep in the sun.

This shelf is hanging on the side of my shop/studio.  Pumpkin loves to sleep here.  Sometimes, Patsy beats here to the bottom shelf....I have seen both shelves with a cat on it.

I would like to believe that when these 2 friends pass on, that I will see them again one day.  I don't even have words to express how much I appreciate them and their friendship and all they meant to our farm life over the years.  For now, I will keep loving them and enjoy them each day.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  2. Oh, that's so sweet Jacky! I don't know if animals live in the hereafter but it would be nice if some of them did! The cats are so pretty! We're supposed to get down to 6 tonight! That's unreal cold for us! I couldn't imagine living in sub-zero weather like yours! Stay warm! Blessings from Bama!

  6. 15 certainly is old for a barn cat! They sure look happy on a cold, frigid day!
