Dicky Bird's Fruit Jumbles

In a separate bowl, mix up the following:

1/2 C chopped walnuts
1/2 C flaked coconut
1/2 C craisins
1/2 C currants
1/2 C "Fruit Bits" - (Sun Maid Brand)
1/2 C chopped banana chips
1 C "Bob's Red Mill" apple cinnamon granola
1 C "Bob's Red Mill"  muesli

reserve this to the side

Cream together:

1 stick butter
1 C brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla

While still beating, add:

1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t salt
1/2 C honey

Mix together and add:

2 C flour
Fruit & granola mix

Roll in 1 1/2" balls (rounded tablespoon).  Bake 350 for 12-14 min.  Makes 4 doz.

I made this one up too.  This is a good way to clean out the pantry - that is why I made them.  You could add any type of dried fruit you like. They actually are really good and I guess pretty healthy too.

im on a weird diet for health reasons so minimum on sugar/butter/eggs content, but mr forestman has taken to making his own oatmeal cookies so i dont have to (hes nice that way!)...he keeps adjusting the recipes and honestly its been fun giggling at his little charcoal briquets, or his gushy droopy cookies lol Im going to show him your post and maybe he can throw some extras in there to make them more "special" then they already are!

If he just wasnt so stubborn and followed the recipes measurement by measurement i think he would make something edible...but then i think he just likes being in the kitchen!
