Rhubarb Biscuits

Rhubarb Biscuits:

1 C diced rhubarb
1/2 orange - zest and juice
2 T sugar

Dice rhubarb, let it sit in juice, zest and sugar while you mix the dough

2 C flour
1/2 C shortening

Cut the shortening into the flour

3 T sugar
2 t baking powder
1 t salt

blend together, add the rhubarb and mix together

3/4 C milk
1 t vanilla

blend all together - will look a bit wet

Drop by tablespoons on parchment covered pan, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.  Mine had some nutmeg too.  Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes till light brown.
