Did you know that chickens take baths? Dirt baths. My free range chickens have many spots in our yard where they enjoy the pleasure of flopping around in dirt.
I can't help but laugh when I see these holes. One time our farrier, who was trying to attach his chaps and walk at the same time....stepped into one of these holes and almost fell. I know it was mean to laugh, but I couldn't help it. So, now when he comes, he looks where he is walking.
It isn't as funny when it happens to me.

Hi Jacky! I love to watch our hens 'bathe'! They are so funny! You don't want to be to close when they decide to ruffle their feathers, either! One day when I was feeding them some kitchen scraps, Henny came running up and ruffled her feathers. Dust went flying everywhere! I had me a good 'bath', too! Blessings from Bama!
