March in Like a Lion Cub...

Most of my state, Wisconsin, is going to have snow showers today.  The southern sections much more.  So, I would consider this "in like a lion."  For me, here in Ringle, "in like a  lion cub."  It is, however, only 14 degrees, but I'll take it.

We were blessed to have good weather, clear and in the 40's, for the past 2 weekends.  We were taking trailer loads out of the house we have been working at for an estate sale.  So, if in like a lion, out like a lamb...we will hopefully have good weather for the sale early April.

Most of us up here are pretty sick of winter and any sign of spring is welcomed.  With that said, this past weekend, we saw 2 trumpeter swans flying over Ringle.  I didn't have my phone or camera handy...I missed it!  We also saw a nesting pair of eagles in a huge pine tree...the one flew down to pick up road kill and started flying right toward our truck with the dangling carcass from the talons...it was so cool...of course...no camera or phone handy at that moment either.  It flew back to the tree.  I actually saw 3 eagles Saturday.

My hens have been laying around 6 eggs a day, yay!  I only had to buy eggs 1 time this winter.

Our horses have been naughty, they tore up the drip edge off the short end of the roof.  I have been worried they ate something they shouldn't have.  Like the steer did and we had to have the veterinarian come out to make him swallow a magnet.  We figured it out in time and he didn't die from metal poisoning.

This time of year I have friends busy, tapping maple trees, calving, lambing...oh, how I love the signs of spring!  It's getting busy all around.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  3. We were on the south end of that "storm" but felt like the roar of the lion with the wicked winds! Why is it when you see all of the cool stuff the camera or phone is not around? I did get a picture of a eagle a few miles from our house a few weeks ago. More snow for us this week, but 60's by next week.

  4. How fabulous that you are seeing so many eagles! What a treat. Spring is on its way because the birds are singing earlier each day down here. Hoping your estate sale goes well.
Thanks for joining us on The Maple Hill Hop!

  5. Sounds like an exciting time, Jacky! We've had all kinds of temps and weather here! Even big snowflakes, then an hour later, thunder and lightening! To live in the South is quite a weather experience at times! Enjoy your warmer weather! Blessings from Bama!
