Hollyhocks

It just rained and I went outside to take these pictures – the pink is so bright!!!

The lilies are growing up in between them…..

These flowers remind me of what Jesus said in Matthew 6: 28-32:
“And why take ye thought for raiment?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is and tomorrow is cast in to the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, o ye of little faith?  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithall shall we be clothed?  (for all these things the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all of these things.” KJV
Blessings from Wisconsin!
P.S.  Clouds after the storm….

  5. I've tried a couple times to grow hollyhocks but without success. I know they survive up here in northern Maine, because I've seen a few in others gardens...not many though. I do love the cottage look of them! Thanks for sharing and using that verse. Sometimes we need to be reminded that the Lord is in control and He does care!
