“Sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug”

So, I was up early this morning, outside, thinking about linking up to Prairie Flower Farm’s Building our Homes.  What would I talk about.  What could I say that could inspire someone?  I haven’t been too inspired lately.  In fact, this country song keeps running thru my head:  “sometimes you’re the windshield, sometimes you’re the bug.”  That is exactly how I felt.  We have had a rough (and expensive) couple of weeks with equipment breaking down.  Just when you think everything is going to run o.k. – this is the year – it is all gonna work – you have helpers – the haybine breaks down.  So, needless to say, I felt like we were the bugs….

Then, I go in the house.  I looked at a post from  Our Crazy Farm - Trent's Story

I never looked at her blog before.  WOW if you want to be inspired as to how to build your homes….ladies, check out her blog.
I don’t even have words….I will be the bug for awhile.  Blessings from Wisconsin!

  1. Thanks for the comment on my post. It is hard work to teach children hard work! But worth it, every minute of it.

  2. We've been feeling a bit like this too lately. It seems like every time we try to pay the credit cards down, something needs to be fixed or replaced. Last month it was the car. This month, it's higher bills and furloughs. it's always something. But God is faithful - He provides what we need. So I guess we just need to be content where we are and trust that the Lord will provide. Thanks for sharing! Heather

  3. I can so relate. My hubby has two possible vehicles he can use for work -- an old gas hog of a truck and an economical VW Jetta. Guess which one broke down when he needed to travel 100 miles for work? But God met our needs through that time and provided what we needed for gas. And now, thankfully, the Jetta is fixed and he is using it again. As Heather said, God is faithful. And He is good -- all the time.

  4. Dicky Bird~ I sit here very humbled to read the comments you left on my blog, and then your post here. I am praising God that He is working His plans out through Trent's death, glorifying His own name, and giving us encouragement at the same time. Thank you for being faithful to simply write those words. They mean so much:)) Through your sharing God has already worked in other people's lives. Our greatest desire is that God would be glorified and that many would be saved through what He chose to do with our son's life. If I don't see you this side of heaven~ See you when you get there! 5. I had no idea when I posted this to Linda's blog that she was going to the funeral. I read that Eillanna had passed on to be with Jesus and have been praying for the family. But, my reading Our Crazy Farm blog - for the first time - thru Russ Stick Acres - and being so touched, humbled and moved to post about it - just to find out Linda was at the funeral. Jesus is amazing in how he works! Each and every day I am in awe at his plans for us! Blessings!
