Paoli, Wisconsin - Cluck - The Chicken Store

I have been down to the Madison area 3 times this past week.  All for different reasons.  I did find some really cute shops on those trips.  However, this one really is a stand out.

Paoli, Wisconsin is 9 miles SW of Madison.  It just might be the cutest little town in Wisconsin.   Paoli was a bustling town in the mid 1870's with historic stone buildings constructed before the Civil War.  These now house antique shops, art galleries, cafes and this adorable shop - Cluck!

"Cluck is all about the backyard chickens."  This is on their card.  I didn't have my camera with me so I don't have any pictures of this shop.  However, it was absolutely adorable.  I loved that everything was chicken related.  She showcases local artists along with American made items.

While walking around talking with the shop owner, she tells me she wrote a book:  Cluck From Jungle Fowl to City Chicks.  The book is about chicken stories and facts.  The stories are about her chickens as well as other stories shared.  They feature the insight of the simple chicken.  If you own chickens you know all about their wonderful characteristics and personality traits.  Well, I had to buy a copy and have her autograph it.

The book also has beautiful illustrations from another Wisconsinite - S.V. Medaris.  Almost every page has a piece of her beautiful art.

I created a link to her blog in this post.  So for you followers that love chickens - check it out.  If you love historic little towns - I would highly suggest your going to Paoli, WI.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.
