Sandhill Cranes

This pair of Sandhill Cranes have been in our pasture on and off for over a week.  They are so prehistoric looking - their "call" sounds like it too.  When I was taking the pictures from my porch, I could see the Redwing Blackbird swooping at them.  They must be close to her nest.

Blessings from Wisconsin.

  2. I don't have the sandhill cranes by me ~ it's too wooded .. but eighty acres away in two different directions towards the neighbors they have them in their fields. I can hear them every evening and early morning squawking. We do get to see them fly over.
