"Working for a Livin...Workin..."

As a teen, I had a "thing" for Huey Lewis.  I've seen him in concert a few times over the years.  Anyway, his song, "workin' for a livin'" came into my mind this morning.

I haven't been keeping up with my blog posting.   May just flew by.  I was wondering, why didn't I post.  Well, I did 3 show/events.  As fun as this sounds, it's actually a lot of work!  It's, digging, washing, waxing, fixing, tagging, packing, unloading, staging, selling.....to turn around the next day....boxing, lugging, packing....I think you get the picture.  Did I mention, this all seems harder to do.....I'm not getting any younger.

My word of the year is RECLAIM.  This is what I've been trying to do.  I am doing 2 Tuesday night sales here at my farm.  I'm calling them "under the tent" sales from 6-8 pm.  However, it will be in the barn and weather permitting in a tent or 2.  So, tonight is the first one.  I was overwhelmed with the process - honestly, still am!  I do have an immense collection/inventory.  It will really take me more than just these 2 sales!  Anyway, I was thinking of doing something like "It's the GREAT CleanOUT, Charlie Brown" - kinda thing...I will keep setting up and when I feel like it announce a sale.  I don't want to be held down to an event calendar like I was last year.  However, I do want to put that same effort I did for my clients last year into my own stuff.  Pray for me....

Driving loads over to the barn....for sales.  Ok friends, I'm off - "workin' for a livin'."

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  1. What a lot of treasure you have for sale. Whilst hard work you must love it when someone finds the perfect thing they have been looking for, what a joy.

  2. I laughed at the Charlie Brown reference. We have a garage that is jam packed so I know the feeling. Good luck! Janice

  3. How did it go? I hope it went well. We are planning a really good sort through when I get back from Mum's in August.

  4. Well, I missed the first one.... Odds of making the second??? Probably not so good either the way this summer is going. So much trying to be packed into 3 short, short, months I swear. Hope you “re-homed” lots of treasures (so you can buy more of course LOL!). I also am running behind on the blogging...both posting and reading. You know, it’s finally summery here for a few days...got some dirt digging to do! Hope your birthday was awesome! ~Robin~
