Vintage Ice Cream Maker

While cleaning out my estate inventory, I found this vintage ice cream maker.

Justine and I experimented with it today.  We looked at pinterest and came up with a good base and decided to make up our own variety.  We dug through the pantry and Justine came up with the idea of making an Almond Joy Ice Cream.

It was really easy.  This is the recipe.

1 3/4 C heavy cream
1 1/4 C whole milk
   1/4 C sugar
     1   T almond extract

Justine toasted some slivered almonds.  Next time we will toast the coconut too.  Then we added;

1/3 C coconut
1/3 C chocolate chips
1/3 C almonds

Put all of this in the ice cream maker.  We put the ice and salt in the outside of the container and turned it on.  It only took about 20 minutes and we had the most delicious ice cream.

We also made a healthy version of frozen strawberry yogurt.  This was even easier, we put in 4 C of non fat vanilla greek yogurt (1 large container) and about 2 C sliced strawberries.   It also took about 20 minutes in the maker.

These both were so good.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.
