Blogging is Back - 2026 Trends Say

I heard it from a professional content creator a few weeks ago that blogging is back.  Thanks to the same looking posts, AI, fast paced scrolling and lack of personality.  Many want to go back to sharing more than 35 words or a few seconds of time.  I noticed on youtube that several influencers are going toward a slow living trend.  I knew they would burn out - you can't do all that - and still vlog/blog/post about it multiple times a week.   I know many of them have staff that do most of the things for them.  However, you became an influencer because of your originality...not what you've grown in to.  O.k. I'm off my soap box now.  I believe AI free will be the next thing.  I will remain AI free.  My content has always been original - flop or not.

So, as I move forward into a less mobile world, blogging I hope to keep up with.  I may in time need a device that types for me.  Until then, I will keep moving my fingers the best I can.

Here is our dog Lady as I am sitting working on this...she thinks the chair is hers.

So things you may see more of in 2026

Oh, I've tried just about every little "gimmick" to get people to read my blog:  Motivational Monday, Tips on Tuesday, Whatcha Got Wednesday, Thrifscore Thursday and Farmhouse Friday.  What it is you like to read about or see on the blogs you love?

Remember the "bloghops" - I sure miss those.  I gained many followers from sharing on those hosted by other blogs.

Any tips or ideas of content you would like to see from me?

Thanks.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  1. We are using AI more now at work...it is making folks become lazy if you ask me. They will no longer be able to think for themselves and will rely on AI. Kinda scary. Janice

  2. Everything old is new again. No AI for me either. I blog about life good bad or in-between.

  3. I so agree with your opinions of the burn-out of "drive-through" content creators and platforms. I did FB for a bit...and dabble (but only dabble) in IG for cross-stitch things, but blogging is my comfort place. I might disappear for long whiles, but I know I'll always feel at "home" when I find my way back. I don't have a business concern attached to my blogging like you do, so I don't really worry about ways to get people to read my blog...they either do ro they don't and I guess when the day comes. that there are no comments or sign that anyone is reading, I might give up. Or maybe I'll just go on for the heck of it even then.

    1. I started writing for me, my virtual diary and I will continue to do that. I have given up on getting more followers but I do share my posts on FB etc. so I do know people read them. Yes so true, no matter how long of a break one takes from blogging, you always have a "family" to come back to.

  4. I agree with you and your readers here. I started blogging as a way to record my gardening and homesteading life. Every word is mine and that's the way I intend to keep it.
Yes, to all of your subject matter. The rolls and crackers look divine. And all of the vintage finds you show are absolutely wonderful. I think we would be good neighbors. Praying that 2026 is kind to you in every way.

    1. Thanks for the sweet comment. We would be good neighbors! I pray that too for 2026. I think, maybe, some of us that have been blogging - that was and is our intent - our own record of things. I look back at my recipes a lot.

  5. Well, your photos are lovely. I came to visit your blog after I saw comments you left from time to time on Daisy's Maple Hill 101 blog. I think that's how I find most new-to-me blogs, from comments. I also find that leaving and responding to comments is really what builds a blog's followers. I tend to always try to make return visits to commenters. I think we don't build a blog, we build a community.

I really, really like what you said about AI-free blogs. Mine will always be AI free as well. Maybe someone needs to come up with a button or banner we could show. I think Feedburner lets people make topical lists of blogs. A list of AI-Free blogs could be a useful index.

    1. Thanks for coming over. I'll check your blog out too. My daughter is the one who told me that I should say AI free. I think a button would be great idea. Great tip for bloggers too. That what was nice about blog hopping - see others who share and find new blogs to follow. Happy New Year

  6. Your photos are lovely and I find the photo of you and Lady particularly sweet and touching ❤️ 😊
I have not used AI for anything because I want my blog to be a refuge and encouragement to others that reflect the person who I am and the things I love.
Thank you so much for sharing.

    1. Thanks Debbie. I am the baby of 6, sometimes "forgotten" so seeking "likes" and "numbers" is an actual sickness...it is. Over the years, I've been better, overcoming much of this as I age. I like blogs with all those same things too.

  9. I am SO glad you're back blogging! I've missed reading your posts. All the photos look fantastic.
I don't follow influencers perse. I don't think anybody can be that happy or that perfect all the time. I'd much prefer reading about someone warts and all. Everybody has ups and downs. Life isn't perfect.

    1. Thanks for missing me (smile). I did have a lot on my plate last year and had to find a way to digest "it." I'm on a much better side of "it" all and want to do the things I love doing, while I still can. Yes, warts and all!! I'll read that over perfection any day.
