We had our annual gingerbread house day at grandma's. Thanks Anna for making the gingerbread this year for me. We had a fun morning and then a pizza party for lunch.
I had so much fun!
What I really miss, being laid up in this chair, is cooking and baking. I can't reach the stove safely or the sink. So, Al set me up a work station in the kitchen. With his help, I was able to make some Grinch themed cookies for an event we planned at our office/shop.
Thanks Lisa for making a special trip to Walmart in Antigo, where they had Grinch green sanding sugars. Oh and picking me up the cherry jelly too.
I may have over done it, because my foot was VERY swollen. I actually called the doctor. I have been elevating it the past 2 days and today too. I started watching the PBS series, Victoria. So good!
I have PT at 1:30 today. Tomorrow and Saturday are the last 2 selling days in our office for 2025. We are taking several weeks off. We have several consignees to work on in January and February. Then, when it gets warmer, I hope to be back digging out the years of estate buyouts in my pole building. After falling on a rug, I am so LUCKY I didn't fall over any of my junk while digging out there this fall. So LUCKY....
Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

oooooh this looks like so much fun!! we have not have our cookie bake/gingerbread house get together yet, it is next sunday. santa will visit us on the firetruck that day too!! the cookies look so good....and it is so hard to NOT overdo it this time of year!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I hope you enjoy your cookie day as much as I did!
ReplyDeleteI remember when you did the gingerbread houses last year...and it looks like everyone has graduated from amateur class to pro. Great houses! (I really like the pretzel rod sidewalk!) And your Grinch cookies look yummy! After all the years of baking for Christmas, I am thinking I will only do one batch of cookies (and maybe a few candies...macaroons, brigadeiros, iced almonds). The whole GF thing throws a wrench into baking. Even if you find some things that taste good, the shelf life is non-existent. Oh well, probably good for me in the long run as I'd end up eating the most of it LOL. Great photo of you, Al and the grands!
ReplyDeleteI am cutting back on the baking this year too. I don't need to eat all of that! Thanks for the compliment, I thought it was a cute picture too. I will have to look up brigadeios never heard of them. Cold stretch coming.....ugh
DeleteTheCrankyCrow-I'm sorry I don't know your name and forgive me if I'm sticking my head in where it doesn't belong, but I noticed you mentioned GF in your comment. Not sure what your situation is, but I wanted to share with you that I was GF for 2 years (I'm not celiac), and I have recently changed to making my own baked goods with fresh milled flour and have seen amazing results. Again, please forgive the intrusion. I just want to pass along the good stuff. Feel free to message me if you want more information. I'm happy to share what I've learned.
DeleteLooks like everyone had a great time! You have a creative crew there. Great memories for the grands and grandparents alike. Blessings...
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, we ALL had a great time.
DeleteGlad gingerbread class was back in session. They all look so wonderful! Grinch cookies looked yummy too, but hopefully you did not overdo it. No cookies for me this year. I will be taking care of my mom so cookies wont be in the mix unfortunately. Loved the pic of you, Al and the grands. They are getting so big. Take care of yourself. No more falling. Janice
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it was back in session too! Thanks, I like that picture too. They are getting big!
DeleteLooks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteTake it easy on that leg!
We did! I have been resting in the afternoons. I started watching PBS series Victoria - I'm sure not all historically accurate. Do you watch it?
DeleteBeautiful and heartwarming photos. 💕
ReplyDeleteThanks (heats)
