12 Days Before Christmas - Day 1

12 Days Before Christmas EVENT on https://www.facebook.com/events/583713522363122/

I decided to do a "simple" Christmas this year.  I've been inspired by the word, Hygee: a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture)

When I think of hygee (hyoo - guh), I think of coziness.  Nothing makes me feel more cozier than simple, whole foods...o.k., let's not lie....food is my hygee!

So, for my first giveaway, I am going to offer something that I love to look for when I thrift shop.  Different, simple plates and kitchen wares that I can use for props when I do food posts on my blog.

I've recently become obsessed with wood cutting boards.  Every estate buyout or sale I do I keep them!   I so enjoy not only displaying them, but using them.   Charcuterie boards seem to be all the rage this year.  Last year, Anna made an awesome one for our Christmas day brunch.  She had just moved to New Holstein, WI where there are an abundance of cheese factories - it was amazing!  You don't need to be elaborate with your charcuterie for it to be a show stopper.  This one I added the jar of Holiday Jam I picked up at Bea's in Door County.  You could use this savory or sweet.  Fill the custard cup with the jam and add cream cheese to the handled bowl with a few crackers or even biscuits.

One thing that did well for me this year was my herb garden.  I cut them and placed them in a jar of water in the crisper of my refrigerator.  Believe it or not, the sage is still growing - little roots.  I love having a jar of fresh herbs - for little longer.

While you are planning your charcuterie board - which screams - hygee - look at the produce department for herbs that you can add for decoration.

This giveaway is for:  1 wood cutting board, 1 handled bowl, 1 custard cup and 1 jar of Holiday Jam.

I love the pottery pieces, the brown and robin's egg blue so compliment each other.

I will be doing daily giveaways in blog form.  Thank you for your support and following along!

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.
