Well, we've had quite the week here. So COLD we woke this morning to -24 (wind chill like -40). LOTS of things closed today.
I had a lazy week....I wanted to do more...but, we started watching All Creatures Great and Small (PBS/British show). So, between that, PT, posting a lot drop, marketing for the Vintage Shop Hop Event we are taking part in and some cooking and baking, it's already Friday evening.

Stay warm and safe my friend. We were around -27 when I got up (which is not early) and they were saying windchills of -50 to be expected.My furnace never did catch up. Another day or so and we will be back to a more normal crazy kind of cold?? I have had heaters running in the basement and along the safety escape stairs so the pipes hopefully won't freeze...and got the heating issue in the shop that I came home to mostly resolved...hoping now the propane for the fireplace and the generator holds out. That chicken noodle soup looks wonderful. I haven't made it into town since getting back from the lake so don't have things I need to make what I want so will make do with what I do have.
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw we broke and tied records for all time cold on 1/23. Yes, make do with what you have. It's just I have 2 freezers full of meat...so, I'm really set. (wink, wink). We made sure to run all the sinks we have to keep pipes from freezing. One is on an exterior wall and those pipes froze before. It was colder here this morning -30
DeleteYikes on your temperature. I was complaining about it being -8 right now. Love the wash day pic of vintage items. Reminded me of my maternal grandmother. Yes the countdown is on to retirement. 20 more days. Cannot believe it is almost here. WOOHOO! We sure have been blog friends for such a long time. Hope it continues. Janice

We found the first season on Netflix or something. We were hooked and now subscribe to that Halmark channel it's on. We are caught up with it until this Sunday night's episode! It was -30 here at 7 am. We usually get a week or so of this all winter. However, it's been a few since this cold.
DeleteYikes, that's cold. My husband and I loved the All Creatures series, although we've only watched the old one. One of these days we'll have to watch the new one.

Deletehmmm...that does not sound like a lazy week!! the soup looks so good...it sure is soup weather!! our temperatures are cold here, but above zero. i think we got about 8 inches of the white stuff today!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying so, but I did enjoy the down time too. This week back to my little office/shop. Been off over 6 weeks. It was wonderful. I thought it would be harder for me to retire or quit doing what I do, but not any more. I love what I do, but I don't want to die doing it.
