Anyway, it gives the history of this family. Lisa and I have been busy getting ready for the household portion of this sale. The sale is another 1 and done, it will be this Saturday, December 9th from 9-4. Whatever sells, sells. Carter's owned a store in the front part of their residence. We dug though all kinds of boxes to find some treasures for this sale. What I really like are the "new/old stock" many greeting cards, including Christmas. I love old paper. We can not guarantee what will be there on Saturday morning when we come, as the family will have a time to "pick" items, should they choose. NOTE: However, Gary Kickbusch, if you are reading this...you owe me a hug....I dug and found an old Kickbusch Grocery Matchbook (I'm sure anyone else would have tossed the whole box) and a Vanity Flour bag - with original flour (I tossed that as the bag was paper) from the Kickbusch Grocery Store...anyway, I hope you get it. This will be Town Hall Trinkets, LLC's last estate sale of the year. Lisa and I would like to thank all of you who came out to the estate sales that were entrusted to us in 2017. We are providing a service to families, who in most cases, have no other option. Our community has some wonderful estate sale companies, who do amazing sales. I don't always go to them because people ask me too many questions, like: "how much are you going to sell that for..." It is hard to pick and sell in the same town. We don't actively seek sales - but, I can guarantee you those that we do, are ordained. As a spiritual person, I see the signs. Lisa and I wish only the best for these other companies and seek no competition - we couldn't - you guys are awesome! With that cleared up....best of luck for 2018. I enjoy watching Around The Farm Table on PBS. Inga, is a 4th generation dairy farmer and she shares her love of farm life and small town living with her audience. She focuses on, of course, Wisconsin and our products! She is very cute and often does and says the quirkiest things. That's probably why I like to watch - kindred spirits I guess. Anyway, I saw that she was going to be doing a Christmas Smogastratta - now to be fair, I had no idea what that was...in fact...I thought it was a smorgasbord...so, I was all excited to dress in my Nordic stuff....you know me..... First, I need to share my new mittens....made by a former Popplewood 4Hr....I LOVE them! The pattern is a fiddlehead
Now, if you don't know....I'm not of Norwegian decent...in fact, I'm mostly Native American and German....(for my friends across the pond...ya...the great melting pot....smile). I am so drawn by the heritage patterns - I'm guessing because to me it reminds me of native bead work only in yarn. That is why I too LOVE vintage sweaters....I bought this one in Minnesota this past summer at Gold Rush Days flea market
So, wearing my little outfit, we drove down to the venue in Prairie-Du-Sac, Wisconsin, to the Tripp History Center. Anna and Jon met us there. It was nice to share in a holiday event with them. Inga is very genuine and down to earth. She shared stories with us as she prepared a smogastratta - which is actually a sandwich cake. I think these were popular in the 1970's. Let's bring them back! I already have ideas of one I want to make. I have a hard time containing myself at times - well, most times - I did blurt out stuff to her as she cooked...but, I curbed it...or at least tried to.

After, she was nice enough to let us take a picture with her. I shared a little secret with her and she hugged me....(Al said it wasn't a bad thing to say...it was a compliment). Anyway, I said it... Also, I wanted to tell her about some show ideas that feature Marathon County farm families. We have world class stuff here in Marathon County - beef, smoked gouda and maple syrup - they need to be featured - as each are a farm to production operation. O.k....moving on...
It's been a tough year for me in regards to my personal growth. I had to let go of some things - emotionally and mentally to retain my spirituality. Let that sink in.... My followers, know I try to turn every negative into a positive. I do...it's just who I am.."Little Miss Sunshine" as our neighbor called me. Sometimes, THAT, comes at a cost to me...it just does.... I'm not going to go into detail about all the "bad" that happened to Jacky this year...I hate whiny babies! Doing that does no good - it really doesn't. I've heard this song many times, however it didn't resonate to me then, as much as it does at this moment in my life.
Yes, this is metal, but I do like some metal. The lead singer, David Draiman can "spit" out words like none other. His impeccable diction to the beat - amazes me! Yes, sometimes darkness can show you the light! If it is one thing 2017 has taught me, IT is how I DON'T want to be. Scripture tells me, "you will know them by their fruits." Lately, while picking some fruit, I had a few bad apples...did I get sour grapes about it...no, I made some applesauce. There is a message in there...yet, again, before I receive any messages..."is your post about me..." NO, my posts are about ME! This post is about how "we" can look at any situation - or in my case, many (I'm not whining..LOL) - and "let the darkness show us the light." Taking the not so good and turning it into something that can help us. Hey, that's life. What does the Bible say, how can all of this help me? Ecclesiastes 2:1-26
In chapter 2, Solomon launches into what he had learned about his works of building material things like houses and gardens and seeking even greater wealth. His conclusion? All of these material achievements were nothing but vanity, a grasping after wind.
He finds no real, sustained profit in them, nothing that truly added to his quality of life, no lasting fulfillment. He does not mean they resulted in no sense of achievement or passing pleasure, but that their fruit never truly fulfilled God's purpose for man. Therefore, those things are poor substitutes for a sustained sense of well-being. He then proceeds into an exploration of wine and entertainment. These are simply another form of materialism, ways of pleasing the flesh. He concludes that they, too, are folly, a mad pursuit.

My little business, Town Hall Trinkets, LLC has had one of, if not the most, profitable years. I did several sales, consulting and liquidating of estates that I'm proud of - yes, I can be proud of - Galatians 6:4 - "Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else." I'm not saying this like "toot, toot....I'm all that!" No, I hate that too!
This post is for ME to remind me that, even in darkness, bad apples, storing up treasure, chasing after...whatever it is....if IT is pleasing to God, He will give me wisdom, knowledge and happiness. This post proves it! I had no idea what I was going to write until I started typing this morning...He, revealed all of this to me just as I needed it! Thank you Jesus! He used the lyrics of a Disturbed, metal song, too! It's not about the messenger, but the message.
Most of us have been blogging for long enough to have some unwanted comments on our posts. It took me a while to figure out where they were coming from. What I noticed is if a blog lays dormant for too long somehow they get picked up or hacked. I started to get "order my oils...or, if you need help with your..." you know the type of comments. They are almost always on old posts. I started to get them last week. This time I noticed an old blog I followed started "posting" again. It wasn't the blogger, rather this hacker who was re-posting old content....that is the clue. Anyway, this is why you need to go through your list of blogs you follow and delete the ones that are no longer current - it's for your blog's own good...sad, but otherwise you get these unwanted comments. I deleted several last week....and the suspicious old blog. Just a tip from my bogging experience. Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

Motivational Monday time, had my thinking about perspective. I know....read that already...but, perspective; your view of things, changes in each stage of life you are in.
Let's use a diaper in this analogy: "Ugh, I have to change another diaper! Oh, I use to change your diaper. You mean I need to wear a diaper?!" Ya....like that....stages in life.
We could also use what's in the diaper...(wink, wink), because sometimes life hands us that too!

I rarely attempt to make bread - it intimidates me. The science and math in creating a perfect loaf - it seems too hard. However, today I thought - I'm doing it! Baking is also something I enjoy, it's my therapy. We had the sweetest, smallest butternut squash this year. I made whipped butternut squash for Thanksgiving. I had some left overs so here goes: Butternut Squash, Light Whole Wheat, Honey Bread 2 packs of dry yeast 1/2 C warm water - 110-115 degrees dissolve yeast in water and let stand 5 minutes
1 1/4 C mashed, cooked butternut squash 1 C warm milk - 110-115 degrees 2 beaten eggs 1/3 C melted butter 1/3 C honey - I also made some with Molasses 1 t salt mix all together with dough hook, add the yeast and then 3 C whole wheat flour 4-5 C all purpose flour when the dough begins to pull away from the bowl on the hook, it is ready - will be sticky
Knead several times, place in a large greased bowl and roll around so the top of dough is greased. Let rise 1 - 1 1/2 hours until doubled. Grab dough and divide in thirds and shape into a ball, place on greased pans, drizzle some olive oil on top and sprinkle with seeds - I used flax. Let rise again - maybe an hour. Bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes until tops are golden. Remove and let cool.
