Well, I did it. The first of my own estate sale. Al and Anna helped me set up. Truthfully, I did a majority of it by myself, with the Lord's help. I did drop and break stuff - oh, well...few less things to sell. The weather was beautiful too.
I was going to set up tents, pull out what I wanted to sell and stage in tents. However, wind, rain, hail type of weather, Al convinced me to just start in a corner and work on it. It was a HUGE mess, but the best idea.
The befores...
Al helped me set up tables in the middle and I found a place to sit and mark items.
This sale had mostly things you can create with. Bundles of crafting wool, linens, fabric....
Already felted wool, wool sweaters....
unfinished projects, fabric and lots of miscellaneous.
The afters....
I made the mistake of saying "everything was $10 or less." That would have worked, if I set up in the tents. However, using my building, I had all kinds of stuff in here, so we had to hide it. I still want to sell most of it, but not for $10 or less.
This happened....
This also happened....
Speaking of becoming "rich" - these words are priceless.
Now to evaluate left overs - toss, burn, donate, maybe lots for sale.
Swedish death cleaning continues.
Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

I am so glad I do not live near you I would have had a huge problem. I love most of what I see.

Well thanks. It's hard for creative people to let go of things to create with.
DeleteCongratulations on a successful sale and making a big dent in that "cleaning" stuff. Looks like some good finds to be had even if one weren't in the market for crafting supplies. Those white shopping carts out front are amazing...and I'd have been making a beeline to those vintage suitcases and the felted wool. Yeah, this cleaning stuff isn't going to come easily to me.
ReplyDeleteThose shopping carts sold right away. I know, lots of "hookers and felters" were here. They did same...thankfully!
DeleteDear Jacky, wow, you did an amazing 👏 job. I don't have talent in crafts, but many do and your sale looks like a crafter's dream.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and organized.
Thanks Linda. I am on my way out to finish boxing up what I can donate now. I did have lots of crafters.
DeleteYou're doing it! ;0D It feels so good to let go of what is not serving us. You are creating space in your life for the blessings that have yet to come your way. Good on ya! What a gift you are to others. Blessings...
ReplyDeleteThanks Daisy, I am doing it! I am only going to leave for resale the fabric. The rest is off to thrift shop to donate. On to next load for another fall sale.
DeleteSo glad your first own estate sale is on the books. Kudos to you for being able to accomplish most of it by yourself. Hopefully sales were great. Yikes on your sign $10 or less and so glad you you able to hide the good stuff. At my mom's estate sale someone stole the entire matchbox collection...so I hope karma pays them back. Janice
ReplyDeleteOh no, are you kidding me. Terrible! Yes, Karma please. Thanks for saying so, I am on to load 2 now for a fall sale.
DeleteHooray for you! Progress one step at a time. RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes, with the Lord's help I'm doing it.
DeleteWell done and good luck with the items still to find their final homes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that is what I'm still boxing up for the thrift shop.
DeleteGood for you! I love pretty fabrics so much. Take a picture of any that you especially love before you sell them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, that is a good idea! I did keep some I really loved...ahaha.
DeleteWow what a great achievement. You are doing so well and congrats on managing to do a lot of it yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat tips do you have for getting rid of those things you love or think you'll use later or spent x amount of money on? I'm still struggling, though I have way too much and even if I lived to be a hundred I couldn't use all the craft stuff up!
Well, I have been telling myself that another person can complete or use the supplies I wasn't able to. Having young people come and my even giving away some to them really helped me. Thanks.
Deletesometimes it feels long and grueling but i hope you feel accomplished as well!! you got rid of a lot of treasures and all that fabric, wow!!
ReplyDeleteIt was and I do - the best part is I do feel accomplished! Thanks.
