Oh it was a "puttering" kind of week. I can't believe it's already Friday! Nothing too exciting happening at my farmhouse this week. Well, nothing that the rest of you aren't doing too.
We did start something fun for our online estate sale business: Town Hall Trinkets Online Estate Sales We do Tuesday night "lot drops" (lots that we 'drop' on our Facebook group feed at 7 pm). For fun in February, I thought of JUNKO like BINGO. Each customer, who wants to participate, makes a JUNKO card like this
Each fills in their own squares with items that they think we might have for sale in the "lot drop." If you have JUNKO you bring it into the shop for 10% off an item. If you have JUNKO and you actually said SOLD on an item from the "lot drop" to purchase, you get 25% an item. These will be redeemed at the Vintage Shop Hop Event on March 6 and 7.
Did you see the February 2026 calendar? Equal numbers of days that fill first Sunday through last Saturday of the month. I think this is so cool.
My favorite quote this week from my daily devotions. Something to strive for.
After our wet felting last week, I decided to make some Spring or Easter felted art for the Vintage Shop Hop. I came up with these heads (I had some round balls made already for pumpkins-wink, wink) that I plan to do something cute with. I will share the finished ones later, closer to the event.
We finished "The Durrells of Corfu" this week. We so enjoy taking a little break in the afternoon and watching an episode or 2. It's been my favorite part of the day. Normally, Al doesn't like shows like these. However, the one's we've picked, he likes! We had no idea this was based on a real family. At the Vintage Shop Hop, I will have several pieces of vintage clothing that look very much like Louisa Durrell's style.
So yesterday, we started Poldark. We are getting into this one as well. I know, we could do something more productive. My broken femur recovery, IMB disease, -45 below, snow, Winter in Wisconsin isn't just our excuse. January and February are our well deserved break from all the time we spend doing things outside all Spring, Summer and Fall.
I really miss the sauna! Al is trying to figure out a ramp into it for me. In addition to a bar that goes across in front of the furnace (wood fired) so if I trip, I don't fall into it. I've been walking more with the walker, but this morning tweeked my back and can only think of how good a sauna would feel and heal. He is in the sauna now.....perfect day, 32 and dusty light snow.
This was my week. How was yours?
Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

i have been puttering too...i LOVE the definition of puttering, it almost makes it seem important. interesting about february...i always thought it to be a short month, i didn't realize!! i took a class in wet felting, had i been graded, i would have received an "f"!! i think you had a good week...walking is always a step in the right direction!! have a better weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie. I'm sure it would have been at least an E for effort! Can't wait to see your Critter post tomorrow!
DeleteGreat idea with the Junko. I did not know that about the February days. This is cool! Janice
ReplyDeleteI came up JUNKO because I found my long lost BINGO cards while digging for stuff to sell. My husband carries me boxes/tubs and I go through them. Also, I just want to have fun....ahaha
DeleteThe JUNKO game is quite clever! Sounds like fun too.
ReplyDeleteDan and I use lunchtime to watch an episode of a series (whatever I can find at the library). It helps us not rush our lunch and take a break (something we truly need as we get older). We really enjoyed Poldark, but I couldn't get Dan interested in The Durrells. I'll have to try again; sometimes he doesn't give something a chance before pronouncing judgement. ;)
I think those playing JUNKO are having fun. I wasn't hooked on Durrells at first few episodes, but it came around and I really enjoyed watching. Yes, I agree with taking breaks as we age. Good advice. Thanks.
DeleteThe Durrells was such a great series! I will have to check out Poldark.
ReplyDeletePuttering is a worthwhile pursuit. What a luxury to be able to work on tasks at one's own pace. No pressure or deadlines.
Fascinating about the month of February this year. I would never have realized on my own. I'll have to pass that along.
Hope you find a way to use the sauna. No doubt it would be very therapeutic and such a welcome relief to your cold winter days.
Enjoy your puttering this weekend!
Thanks Daisy. I think you inspired a future blog post "The Joy in Puttering" We are really enjoying Poldark. It just hit me why in the UP of MI there are so many "Cornish" settlers...I don't know why I didn't think this or know it they are from Cornwall, England. Miners there and mining up there. "Cornish Pasty" (meat veggie "pie") so popular up there. Yes, I want to Sauna soon! Thanks
DeleteThe felted pieces are beautiful! You do such lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI need to watch Poldark again. I watched a lot of the later episodes but not the early ones. The scenery is beautiful. I hope you have a good week!
Thank you. Oh, I'm so into the story! I just hate George and the Vicor...good story. The scenery is beautiful!
DeleteHow long have you been doing this felting? You're really advanced! I'm glad you are watching Poldark. I really loved it. I loved the Durrells, too. Brit series are my absolute favorites!
ReplyDeleteBrit series are mine too! I've been felting probably 20 some years. I have taught at the local university for community education classes, 4H clubs, Girl Scouts and many family and friends.
DeleteI'd be all about a sauna right now! Love the February stats list. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I just think it makes February feel "complete" - I like things that.
DeleteI love all your photos and illustrations! I don't have talent in doing crafts or art, but I enjoy seeing the creations of those who have this talent! Such a lovely post, thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Felting is very easy, you could do it.
DeleteOh, my, you do have a lot going on! And a broken leg! I didn't know that! I started watching Poldark a while back, on the recommendation of a friend. It was good, but I got tired of watching him ride that horse along the coast all the time.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
I know about the horse, running into trouble too...ahaha.
