2020 Town Hall Trinkets, LLC - Grouping Giveaways

I know there is a mess behind the door....but, ignore that....look at the screen door I used as a door.  I've had that there for 25 years and I love it still!

This was my "farmhouse" entryway redo....several years back.  I was just thinking I want to redo parts of this again.  Anyway, everything in these pictures "mean" something to us.  Each side of the closet door has a hay rake and potato planter one from each of Al's grandparent's farms.  The DeLaval cream separator is from one of my mentors, George Woodrich's auction when he passed on.  The cream cans are also from Al's grandparents.  The tractor seat, chair I bought from an auction 20 some years ago.  This probably was a "make do" piece an old farmer did so he had something to sit on in the barn.  I'm sharing all of this with you in this post, to explain my concept.

I've been decorating with antiques my whole life.  I have always liked old things and was just drawn to them.  Now for my older followers, do you remember Country Living Magazine from the 1980's, 90's when it was articles and pictures of beautiful homes and farms?  It's become nothing more than ads after ads now.  So disappointing.  I miss it!  I would look at them and get all kinds of ideas for what I wanted to look for and how to use it.  Is there anything like that now?  I know we have Pinterest, Fixer Upper and HGTV types of programing and that does help, but, I guess, I am trying to think of a more "organic" form.

I came up with my 2020 Grouping Giveaway concept after much research.  I really did.  I asked all of the younger people in my life, "do you like antiques?"  Sorry to say, most said no.  When I asked why, this is what I heard most...."Jacky, I like old things, the look of it, I just don't know how to use it or decorate with it" and "I don't like clutter!"  And that's where it began.

I want to rejuvenate an interest in antiques.  Not only with my younger customers, but with all my customers.  Not for a selfish reason, like you will them buy from me.  Rather, I want to, because too many of these treasures will be lost.  I thought, I can do this in an organic way, by sharing and showing.  So the concept was born.  I also started a facebook group called:  Regenerative Antiques  here is the link:

My plan is to do a blog post about each grouping each month.  Explain what the items are, why and how you could use them and I'll give tips on where to look for them.  I think it will be fun.  If you want to join along, LIKE my page:  Town Hall Trinkets, LLC: https://www.facebook.com/Town-Hall-Trinkets-LLC-729693193716630/ and ask to join the group.  I know some of you do not have facebook, that's o.k., you can still enter via a comment on my blog.  If it's possible, I can ship them too.  Thanks.

And so we begin.....

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  1. Yes I use to subscribe faithfully to Country Living until they went into a different phase of what home should look like. It was disappointing. THe younger kids around here in Michigan like to use antiques if you say "Farmhouse Antiques" BTW I have a screen door in our home too...you and I are just too much alike. Janice
