Jacky's Craft Camp - Day 3 - Felt Slippers

Jacky's Craft Camp - Day 3 - Felt Slippers

We made slippers today.  This was a fun project too.  I bought 2 blankets - wool military type for $0.50 each at the auction on Saturday.

Start with tracing one of your shoes.  Make sure to leave a seam allowance.  Cut two the same, however flip one so that the opening is on the side of each foot.

Fold each in half and stitch together from toe to heel.  Leave the heel end open.

After you sew both lay them out to make sure that you have one for each foot going the right way....then cut up the middle of the slipper a few inches.

Fold the slipper in half in the middle to pinch together the heel and stitch the back of the slipper closed.

Turn right side out.  Try to put your foot in the slipper, this is the time you cut the slipper opening to fit your foot.

When the slipper fits, cut it into a T - 1/2" to right of slit and 1/2" to left.  Then fold it open and cuff it down.

On the back of the slipper tack it down with a few stitches. You can add buttons to hold the cuff open.  Then cut out a design out of felt and stitch it on.

Carson added a number 1 to the back of his slippers - he is on a bowling league.

If you like these - I plan to - or want to - have some at the next flea market at Grand Repeats - July 12 & 13.

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.
