Before: Cut, wash, take stems off all except thyme (too small) freeze dry.
After, take thyme off stems, fill jars. I've always air or dehydrated my herbs. This, freeze drying left them nice and green and they smell wonderful. I'm so happy with the results.
Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.
Ok...now you're making me want a freeze dryer!! (Your harvest looks incredible!)
ReplyDeleteI wish we would have bought one sooner
DeleteJust wonderful. I can smell all of the wonderful aromas over here. Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks, they kept color and scent
DeleteLovely! You have been busy. I used to do this but have gotten out of the habit. I'm hoping next year to plant a garden as I really want fresh-out-of-the-garden vegetables. I'm still thinking how to do this and not have the deer eat everything - thinking maybe something like a small dog run high enough that the deer can't get inside it!
ReplyDeleteDeer are busy with the apple trees and leave my little garden alone. They don't like movement so something that moves and makes noise is good.
DeleteWow you are all set for all your winter cooking.

I sure am. Thanks.
