I Will Monday - Contribute

 Good Monday Morning!

It's a new day, it's a new week, so let's do our part to contribute to it.   This post has a specific direction, but think of ways you can contribute your time and talents to:  family, others, church, organizations and so many other things.

My direction for using the word contribute today, has to do with sharing your past accomplishments and relate them with what you can achieve in the future.  (Thanks Google).

If you've followed long, you know my quote..."there's a fine line in sayin' and braggin'."  It's a real struggle for the selfemployed me.  I want to promote, but when I read other's feeds, I think nahh, not going to do that (eeeeek, but true, it's all too much).  That's my "heart" on this...so, with that in mind...I will contribute because I think these posts help.

Do you know what those are?  (...do, do, do, do...Jeopardy music...).  It's a knife rest, this one happens to be made of glass.  Their job, as kitchenwares, is to keep dirty utensils from touching the table or cloth.

I have been so influenced in my picking and styling this past year, mostly because of Angela from Parisienne Farmgirl and her Old World Design Society.  I've followed her for years and even took her cooking class in Door County.

Whenever I am on the "hunt" for new inventory, I think, "what would those ladies like?"  It's true.  Obviously, I still buy the primitives for myself...ahahah!   Angela, is on to something here, or she may say, bringing it back.  It goes in line with my post last Monday:  I Will Monday - Grandmillennial Style  in that a little something old, adds charm and one of a kind styling in your home.

I will have these and so much more in my booth at Tansy Hill Farm on May 21.

Song Bird's Serenade

Good Morning.   I would like to challenge you to either do this right now, or remember to do it one morning soon.  Go outside, close your eyes and listen.

Yesterday morning, I happen to be close to my childhood home and I heard the early songs of a cheeping Robin.  That song, brought me back to the back yard, under the clothesline, laying in the grass, not a care in the world.  Then I happen to think, that it was the same song, different birds and much older me.  That little bird didn't need to do more than just cheep and my mind shuffled through a deck of memories.

Same was true this morning when I let the dogs out at 4:40 am.  The birds were just starting their morning serenade and my mind was back to many a morning here on our hobby farm.

Life is full of songs that can bring us back to a specific time and place.  Yes, the world has changed.  Yes, life may have been sweeter.  Yes, you are older and wiser.  Yes, yes and yes to so many other statements.   And, yes the birds are still singing.

Thoughts on Thursday

Good Morning.

I opened my Blogger account to a red eyeball on my post. It was flagged. I have asked Blogger for an answer as to the why? Also, some of my long time followers come up "anonymous" ?? What is going on. Have any of you had this happen?

Here is what I said on another social media site...

I've been a blogger since 2010....

In all that time, I have never had a post "flagged" for content. I still don't know why that happened and I am hoping to get an answer. I have also this past year been "flagged" for content on my business selling group. Apparently, the words used to describe a certain type of glassware - it's the name of the glass pattern - I didn't come up with the name - was offensive....offensive?!? The same word had my being "flagged" when I described a small bouquet of flowers that tickles your nose....it's what is called...I didn't come up with the name. Those 2 posts were reinstated along with my blog post. I understand certain words trigger review, but read content, understand references! I gotta tell you, this past week scrolling on here...upsetting....the garbage people are posting...and I'm put under review - Unreal!!!

Until my next post.....

Tips on Tuesday - Let Your Dreams Guide You

Good Morning.  For this "Tips on Tuesday" I'm going to share about a weird dream I had.  My tip would be to ponder on your dreams, pray about them, listen to your gut and use it to guide you.

Now, I know, I share alot about my dreams.  They are so vivid and I believe subliminal dreams have real meaning to my life.  Dreaming and analyse of them are Biblical.  Scripture shares about dreams over and over.  Anyway, to dream and seek meaning of them, I believe helps me spiritually.

So, I had a dream about a litter of white kittens.  You know the fluffy kind with little grey on their noses and ears.  I was looking at them to pick one out and then was told they were too little.  Then I was shown another litter of bigger kittens.  All colors, black, calico, tiger and as I picked one up and was petting it, I looked closer, maggots were all over it's back and starting to crawl on my arm.

Right?!?  What does this mean?

I looked into several different dream meanings and I actually prayed that I could figure it out as it was disturbing.  This praying for meanings to come to me in a dream go a long way back.  When I was in 6th grade, I moved into the bigger junior high school and I was anxious about it.  My grade school best friend was not in any of my classes and I missed that.  To top it off, someone was putting mean notes in my locker.  Over that summer, we had a new girl move into the neighborhood.  She was nice, but really wanted my best friend as hers.  The two of them had classes together and I felt left out.  I shared with my best friend about the notes and asked if they were from this new girl.  She denied it and said that they wouldn't do that.  I remember praying that God would show me in a dream who it was that was putting these notes in my locker, because it was so hurtful.  He did!  I saw my best friend and this new girl doing it.

My best friend, all through grade school, came from a church going, mom plays the piano in church (don't be offended if you read this) kind of family.  I told her I prayed that God would reveal to me who was putting these mean notes in my locker and that He did.  When I told her what I saw, she broke down and said it was true.

Now, that story I haven't thought about for decades, until this dream.  I believe has similar meanings for me.   Dreaming about cats should bring our attention toward feminine and intuition.  White kittens represent personal growth and opportunities in waking life.  Dreaming of a litter of kittens suggest future growth and development multiplies.  Dreaming of maggots are the negatives that are causing you to be misguided.  Dreaming of a cat and maggots, well I'm not the only one who has.

If maggots represent misguided and kittens, future growth, I will listen to this dream as I move forward.  I will take it as a warning or guiding, rather, my future steps.  Truthfully, I already know what part of this means, the what....maybe, even the who....as my week unfolds, it's all coming to light.  Thank you dream and the good Lord for giving me insight.

Tips about maggots and dreams - listen to them.

I Will Monday - Grandmillennial Style

Good Monday Morning!

We had a washed out, windy weekend here in Ringle, Wisconsin.  I started working to clean out a trailer to use for my next couple events, but nope, weather prevented that from happening as it was blowing doors off pole building and trailers.

So, I looked around at my "stash" what do I have to sell at Tansy Hill Farm  It's already May and today and this whole week isn't looking good for pulling, washing, painting anything.  I don't have a proper climate controlled indoor space to do any of that.  Then, I remembered something Becky, the event hostess said in her contract.  It was something like this "bring those items that you have yet to repurpose and let another buy it to do their own with" at least that is how I read it.  O.k. that I can do!

So, for this I Will Monday, I will try to "sell" someone on the idea of wanting "brown furniture" you need to help them along.  I did a google search and found this interesting article:  Carla Aston Design I don't like to link articles with so many pop ups, but this is a good for many new collectors and us old ones too.

She has a name for the next generation:  Grandmillennial Style; which is the younger furniture buyer who love some of the older styles that their mothers and grandmothers had in their homes.  Can I get a Hallelujah!  Finally - millennials "get it" as in green, reduce, reuse and recycle for brown furniture.  My daughters already have too!

So, brown furniture can be added sparingly.  Choose one or two pieces to be your focal point.  Add variety of wood finishes, doing this will make your space feel unique.  Seek balance in your placement of the brown piece.  Use that as an anchor to your space and pick complimentary accent colors to the type of wood you have.  (Pine wood/green; orange wood tones/blue; natural wood/yellow; dark wood/mahogony/grey).   Photos from google image search:

Combine your painted pieces with your "brown" ones.  I'm not knocking painted furniture - to the contrary, I am only trying to show another trend that will help me reduce my inventory of "brown furniture."  I plan to have some at this.....
