Old Things....

Do you use your antiques?  I do - this is a cranberry smoothie I staged for a photo shoot in one of my small milk bottles.  This size bottle was what a student received at school for "milk break" - do they still do this?  Is this a Wisconsin thing?

In the background is my Texas Ware spatter bowls. They are  stacked 2 and 3 high on the back of my counter.  Perfect for storing onions, potatoes, fruit and such.

My whole house is full of antiques that we actually use.  If you have something old, enjoy it, don't be afraid to use it.  These things were meant to be used and most often made strong or sturdy enough to be used for generations.

What kind of old things do you use?

Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

  2. How wonderful that you use your things! So much better than just keeping them in a cupboard. I have vintage pyrex I use. We had milk in little bottles at primary school - in England! xx

  4. Hi Jacky! I don't use my old bowls cause they were my Grandma's. I'm afraid of breaking them! It's just nice to be reminded of her when I look in the cabinet and see them there. However, I do use an old chefferobe and dresser for storage. Blessings from Bama!

  5. I agree with you! Our old fruit crates come to mind. I use these for storing produce in the kitchen, vintage jars in our pantry, etc... So fun to use antiques! :)
