The Seasonal Saltbox

My friend and auctioneer mentor, George Woodrich, sold me this old saltbox farm house in January of 2005.  I had big plans for this place.  I was going to open a little shop there and call it "The Seasonal Saltbox."  My plans were to open 2-3 times a year.  Well, as my followers know, "life" happened, as it does for us all and other things came first.

I recently had 2 parties interested in purchasing this old homestead.  Al and I have entertained this idea as this old place has been empty and neglected for far too long.  We went over there Monday and mowed the lawn and I removed 2 dead skunks - yes...skunks...

We were so discouraged to find how bad the foundation had crumbled this past year.  We did have heavy snow, wet spring - it just isn't safe.  So, I don't know if either of those parties will want to purchase it.  If not, I'm truthfully not sure what to do.  I posted a picture on my business face book page.  I was shocked at all the views and positive comments.

We have been praying about it...we will see what happens.

Here are a few pictures of the inside.  My plans were to leave the bits of wallpaper and crackled plaster walls the way they are.  I love the door knobs, and crackly paint.

  5. There are people who are willing and able to take on a big project like this. It would be a shame to just let it fall down....Sell.... and let it's new loving owner big her back to life.

    1. Unfortunately the other 2 parties want to knock it down - we are the only ones who want to save it -
