I've had this hops vine for many, many years. I never really have done anything with the hops - I'm not sure what to do with them. I've added them to my fall decorating with the cornstalks, but that's about it.
I started the plant under this old windmill. Now it is covered along with the old dump rake and a shrub near by.
I looked on pinterest for some ideas. I hope to have some of these made up for the Ringle Harvest Day. $30 each.

they're neat! guess you don't brew beer or know anyone who does... :)
ReplyDeleteThat cool! I had no idea what hops looked like until you showed these images! But I did know that in Wisconsin the people who worked in the hops fields were given dances as entertainment, a break from their work, and so they were called 'hops.' (Like, 'Let's Go To The Hop.'). I sure hope I'm not making that up. Now I have to go Google it. Probably would have been a good idea to do that before I wasted your comment space. Hope you've had a good evening. I can tell it's time for me to get some sleep. LOL http://www.slahs.org/history/local/business/hops.htm
