There is a new show called Doomsday Preppers, have you watched it? O.K. so I have. Each episode shows a family that has their own understanding of what they predict will be their "doomsday." Hey, who am I to judge their ideals. I just appreciate their conviction to what they believe. I have learned some pretty good ideas by watching.
So, I am a prepper in the fact that first, I want to secure my salvation in Jesus - this is how I plan to "prep." However, the ideas for food storage, power outages and such can benefit anyone in the case of severe weather.
Do I plan to go "crazy" with this, no. I don't think I will "need" to. I am going to start the new year with a better understanding of what and how to store things. It is in my hoarder nature after all...

I do like to be prepared for power outages here in Canada.. But we are quite used to the weather although thank the Lord we have not had anything drastic.. I think we need to use our heads as well as trusting on the Lord..
ReplyDeleteHi Jacky! That is a popular question right now, since there is a prediction that the world is supposed to end, Dec. 21st! I believe that we should do our part in preparing for whatever God deals with us about. My husband and I have differing opinions about this so I go with what he says. Some may be convicted about prepping for one type of situation, while others prepare differently. I just want to use wisdom by using the food and items that I may have obtained, before they get old! I think a blog hop is a good idea! I have a lot of prepper type blogs in my feed; the best one is homestead survival. It links to other blogs as well. I have to be careful not to get 'caught up' with all of the blogs and ideas they share because it can be overwhelming at times! I really don't know when 'enough is enough,' so I continue to add to my garden and pantry every year! Mostly because I love to garden, but also, to prepare for whatever! ReplyDeleteI recently acquired a large freezer which is much easier to fill with food, however I was reminded that taking the time to can is useful if there were a power outage. I would hate to think of all my food going to waste because of a power outage, whereas canning food would be no worries!
