We had some trees fall down in the storms, so Al is making firewood to use in our sauna.
We planted grass where we used to have garden. We are trying to make things easier - work smarter not harder, right! The garden was all the way to the field. We usually planted like half the garden in sweet corn. However, the past few years we have had racoons, wind, deer tear apart the corn and it was all the work and no yield. We'll just buy sweet corn from the neighbor.
Squash is looking good. We have had so much rain! You know it's almost haying time. With this wet of a field, good luck until mid July.
Well, Al dumped out the burn barrel. We had all those papers we burned last weekend. There must have been a hot spot still in the barrel, days and rain later, because when we went back outside after supper, it was on fire! Good thing we went back out.
It's 4H fair project time. I taught needle felting and Natalie taught painting.
Lauren came over for Grandma craft day. We made these cement mushrooms.
We had our monthly 4H meeting. Braelyn, one of our members, works at the Applewood Lane Alpaca Farm so she set up a tour.
I was tagged in a Facebook post. (smile) Glad all the years of teaching and sharing my art, people remembered me.
I am still working on my set up of the 1st sale of 2026. I'll share more next week. Even some before and afters. My week has been a little bit of this and that. How was yours? Thanks for all the comments on last several posts! (smile).
Blessings from Ringle, Wisconsin.

Hi dear friend, your photos are so beautiful! Here in Montreal we have been getting quite a bit of rain over the last 3 days. For myself it is okay, because the temperatures have been comfortable and the air is fresh. Since we get such intense heat and humidity (and wildfires) here in Quebec every summer, I feel a sense of relief this time with the rain and fresher air.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy in such a great way! The alpacas look so cute!
Thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoy your posts and photos.
Thank you for saying so. I will agree, a cooler summer has been nice. Those wildfires are terrible. I think it was the past 2 years, there were fires in Canada that we could smell. It was even hazy. I couldn't imagine how big those fires could be that we knew it here. I enjoy your posts as well!
DeleteLovely newsy post. The alpacas are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe first baby of year was born just a few days before. It was very shy and hard to get a picture of.
Deletesoooo much fun!! but those storms, not so much!! it has been so windy here, neighbors and friends have host a lot of branches and trees!! i LOVE alpaca, i can see they have gotten their haircuts. there are alpaca on the farm i learned to knit on and i often use their fiber to knit!! have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThis farm sells their fiber as well. I have some I bought a few years ago I used for felting. The are very cute.
Deletefelting is so hard...i tried, couldn't get it!!
DeleteI have never tried needle felting. I used to do embroidery, counted cross-stitch, and needlepoint years ago then I got married. 😂 RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteFelting is easy and fun. I like that I can take a little bit of raw fiber and turn it into something. "I got married...hahaha"
DeleteYou live in such a wonderful place. I have enjoyed this post very much. I didn't realize that 4H was still around. I'm happy to know it is. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteWell thank you. Yes, 4H alive and well. The whole family usually joins when a child does. It's very good life skills.
