Hello Blogger Friends
Good morning "blogland." I'm home from our amazing trip to Peru. My daughter, Justine, planned for us to volunteer for an international group, working with boys in an orphanage in Cusco, Peru. We had an amazing time helping, sharing and caring for these children. We were not allowed to take any pictures of the children, so I don't have those to share. I will tell you, I will have a hard time forgetting them.
I have been home for over a week, but unfortunately became severely ill - not from anything I "caught" there...rather, from the with drawls of the anti nausea patch(es) I wore for the duration of my trip. It was like severe vertigo and migraines all in one. It was brutal!
However, I feel so much better today. I will share more of my trip in the coming days... till then, here are a few.
This was the host family that we stayed with for a week - they were awesome!
here was our room
the family had a friend who helped when they hosted people in their home - this is her adorable son, he greeted us with "hola" every morning!
It was their fall/winter time - however, we are in South America - still stuff growing and blooming. I loved the cactus or is it cacti?
You can't go to Peru and not have your picture taken with a llama...I did several times. In this picture, I'm looking at the one llama - because he/she looked like it wanted to spit on me....
I'm really a "home body" this was a once in lifetime experience. It was hard on me physically, altitude, walking, lack of oxygen, lots of hills, mountain climbing...but, I did it/made it. Best part, I was able to share this with my "wonderlust" daughter! Thanks Justine for the memories!
