A Hen’s Cluck

001

002

At this time of year, before I go in for the night, I have to listen for the “peeps” of little chicks.  The hen’s always go back to the protection of the coop at night and I close the door.  However, sometimes the chicks are too small to make the “leap up” into the door.  So, I run around and try to catch them and put them in for the night.

If you have mama hens, you must recognize the “cluck, cluck” she has to call her chicks.  As soon as the little left behind chick appears….”cluck, cluck” she calls till the little one runs under her fluffy wings.  There to nestle under her warm body.  Sleep tight little chicks – till I see you tomorrow….

Blessings from Wisconsin.
